Residents of Zaporizhia, in southern Ukraine, were left reeling after an attack by Russian forces left one dead and 25 wounded on Wednesday. Three of them in serious condition, 19 with moderate injuries and three with minor injuries, two of whom are children. The Ukrainian authorities confirmed the attack, which targeted an apartment building in the city, causing extensive damage and leaving a trail of destruction.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky expressed his outrage over the attack, posting a video to his Twitter account that showed an explosion and the burning remains of the building. “Right now, they are shooting at residential areas where normal people and children live,” he wrote.
The attack on Zaporizhia is a stark reminder of the danger that continues to face ordinary Ukrainians. The Ukrainian government has condemned the attack and called on the international community to take action to ensure the safety of its citizens.
