Disney World Employee Accused of Videotaping Women for Years
A former Disney World theme park employee has been arrested and charged in Florida after allegedly videotaping a park guest up her skirt late last month, and may have been attacking other park goers for years.
Jorge Díaz Vega, 26, was arrested on March 31 on suspicion of video voyeurism and held on $2,500 bail. He was released from the Orange County jail, records show.
On March 31, Orange County Sheriff’s Office personnel responded to Disney’s Hollywood Studios after receiving a complaint that the employee had recorded an “upskirt” video of a visitor inside the Star Wars store. The affidavit states that the employee had been seen behaving suspiciously prior to the incident, and that he had been seen with a device that looked like a cell phone.
The affidavit further states that the employee had been similarly behaving in the park since at least 2018, when he was first hired by Disney. It is unclear how many other park goers were targeted by the employee, but the affidavit suggests that the behavior may have been going on for some time.
During an interview, Diaz Vega told detectives that he had recorded videos of unknown women at Disney World theme parks for approximately six years and had more than 500 such videos on his phone. He also reportedly showed detectives “several examples of the videos,” which were of several women who seemed unaware that they were being recorded.
The incident underscores the need for vigilance and caution when visiting amusement parks, as well as the importance of reporting any suspicious behavior to park officials. While Disney World is one of the most popular vacation destinations in the world, it is important to remember that such incidents can occur anywhere, and all visitors should be aware of their surroundings.
